Homemade caramel sauce! Absolutely delicious on ice cream! And so easy to make!
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup water
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
• 3 Tbs butter
• 1/2 tsp kosher salt
Bring sugar and 1/4 cup water to a boil in a small sauce pan over med-high heat, stirring to dissolve sugar, boil, swirling pan occasionally and brushing down sides with a wet pastry brush, until mixture turns a deep amber color 8-10 minutes.
Remove from heat and slowly add cream, return to medium heat and cook until smooth about 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and mix in butter and salt. Use right away or let cool at room temperature, pour into a jar with an airtight lid and store up to 1 month.
