Apple Crisp

Fall means warm, spicy, apples with a buttery, crumbly topping that smells like heaven while it's baking! This is a very quick and easy recipe for a delicious apple crisp. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream, positively luscious!
Ingredients
  • ⅓ cup of all purpose flour
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup of regular oats
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon
  • ⅓ cup of cold butter, cut into small pieces
  • ⅓ cup of chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 7 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 heaping Tbs of flour
  • ⅓ cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp of cloves
  • 2 Tbs of pure maple syrup
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and butter a 1-1/2 qt baking dish. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, brown sugar, oats and cinnamon. Add in the butter and using 2 knives or a pastry blender, combine the mixture until it becomes crumbly, then stir in the nuts.
  2. Place the apples in the prepared baking dish and add in the flour, sugar, cinnamon, cloves and maple syrup, stir to coat the apples.
  3. Now, sprinkle on the topping and bake for 45 minutes.
  4. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream! Enjoy, I know you will!
