Southern Peach Pudding

This summertime peach dessert is a delicious cross between a pudding and a cobbler, it is spectacular! And the good news is it's easy to make, no mixer involved! Just stir together the dry ingredients, add the peaches and pour over the topping of butter, brown sugar, white sugar, and a dash of nutmeg, then just bake until hot and bubbly, DELISH
Ingredients
  • 1 cup of all purpose flour
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • ½ tsp of cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp of nutmeg
  • ½ cup of buttermilk or whole milk
  • 3 cups of peeled, diced fresh peaches
Topping
  • 1½ cups of water
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs of butter
  • ⅛ tsp of nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Grease an 8 x 8" baking dish with butter.
  3. Start this luscious pudding by stirring together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Then, stir in the milk until everything sticks together, drizzle in a little more milk if needed.
  5. Stir in the peaches and spread into the greased baking dish.
  6. To make the topping add all ingredients to a small saucepan over high heat, stir and heat until boiling and sugars and butter are melted, pour over the peach mixture.
  7. Now just pop in the oven, bake for 50 minutes.
  8. Let cool, serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream, also delish served cold with a little drizzle of cream!
