Bbq ribs cooked loooooow and sloooooow! If you have the time, this method creates the most incredible ribs ever. Bake in the oven for hours at a very low temperature, then bathe them in sauce and finish them on the grill!
Ingredients:
- 1 slab of baby back ribs
- 1 bottle of bbq sauce*
- sugar for sprinkling on the ribs
Dry Rub:
- 1/3 cup of brown sugar
- 1 tsp of garlic powder
- 1 tsp of onion powder
- 1 tsp of paprika
- 1 tsp of kosher salt
- 1 tsp of freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
Start by making the dry rub, combine all ingredients and apply to the ribs pressing firmly. Cover and refrigerate for 5-6 hours.
Preheat the oven to 230 °. Place the ribs on a foil lined baking sheet and bake for 3 hours.
Remove from the oven and slather with bbq sauce and sprinkle with sugar.
Prepare the grill, place all coals on one side and place the ribs on the indirect side. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes until the ribs start to get good color, turning once. Apply more sauce while cooking. All done, get in there and get messy!
*I always start with a good bottled sauce and add: Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, brown sugar, dijon mustard, garlic, onion powder and salt & pepper.
