Baked ham is so pretty, utterly delicious and super simple to make! The secret is always in the glaze. This is a brown sugar, Dijon, Brandy and pineapple juice glaze, simply luscious! Throw the packet away that comes with the ham! Stir this up, slather it on and bake that beauty! Just think of those ham sandwiches with the leftovers!
Ingredients:
- 1 half or whole bone-in ham
- 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar
- 1 Tbs of Dijon Mustard
- 1/3 cup of Brandy
- 1/3 cup of pineapple juice
- dash of cloves
- 1 can of pineapple rings, drained maraschino cherries
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325°
Place the ham on a rack over a baking pan. Cover with foil and bake for 1 and 1/2 hours.
Add all glaze ingredients to a medium saucepan over low heat, stir and then let simmer slowly until the sauce is thick, about 20 to 30 minutes.
Remove the ham from the oven, brush on the glaze and bake for 35 more minutes, uncovered.
Brush on the glaze 2-3 more times while cooking.
I decorate with pineapple rings and cherries the last 15 minutes of baking so they hold their color and shape. And that’s all there is to it! So delicious!
