Who doesn’t love onion rings? These rings are baked not fried, so you can eat lots of them! They are crispy, light and soooo delicious! With just a few ingredients, they’ll be ready to eat in no time!
Ingredients:
• 2 large onions, sliced and separated into rings
• 1 Tbs of salt for sprinkling on raw onions
• 1/4 cup of flour
• 2 egg whites, beaten
• 4 Tbs of buttermilk
• 2 cups of Panko bread crumbs
• 2 tsp of salt – divided use
• 2 tsp of pepper – divided use
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450
Spray 2 baking sheets with cooking oil spray. Sprinkle the onion rings with salt, let sit a few minutes.
Set up a dredging station: In one bowl, place the flour, in another bowl, place beaten egg whites whisked with buttermilk,
and in the third bowl, place the Panko. Stir in 1 tsp of salt and pepper to the flour and the panko.
Coat rings with flour, dip in egg mixture, then cover with panko. Place on baking sheets in a single layer.
Bake about 10 minutes, until golden, turning once. Sprinkle with a little more salt while hot out of the oven. You’ll be in onion ring heaven!

I would love to know the TIP on how to make them look like this. I was able to get the first few rings coated then everything got clumpy
They were delish but not visually appealing. Helo

Mary Ann, I know it gets messy after a few, so I usually stop and wipe my hands, clean, and move on. Make sure your rings aren’t cut too thin, a little thicker is easier to deal with. Hope that helps! Thanks!
