This was the best year ever for our vegetable gardens at the cabin! We finally cut down a big oak tree that was shading much of the garden for half the day, I had to do some fancy talken to convince my husband! But it made all of the difference in the world! More and bigger tomatoes, beans, cucumbers and peppers, and more vigorous herbs. I made chow chow, sweet pickles, salsa, strawberry, peach and blackberry preserves and canned banana peppers. I still can’t make dill pickles to save my soul! I went through pounds of cucumbers, only to be frustrated and disappointed, what am I doing wrong!? So, sadly, it’s time to pull out the plants and get ready for winter. I guess we all have to rest at some point!
